  The leaves are turning colour and beginning to fall to the ground. To create some of the best nature crafts we have to embrace the seasons and collect the leftovers nature is tossing to the side. I love leaf crafts and they can be so much fun to make. Not to mention how much money you save when you utilize free resources given to you by Mother Nature.  You will need: Leaves Card stock  Paint Paper Markers 1. Let the kids run around and collect leaves off the ground. An assortment of different leaves will help to create different shapes and designs on each card.  2. Let the kids paint the backside of the leaves where the veins are. Choose fall colours if you wish to create the ambiance of autumn. I also used black on their favourite leaves to create a bold stamp that stands out on the rest of them.  3. Take the painted leaves and press them onto paper to create stamps.   As part of our back to school celebration for September we are creating all kinds of cute school items. Crafting these adorable little pieces has been so much fun we thought it would be nice to share our favourites with our community!  To make this adorable backpack craft we got the idea and template from Made To Be A Momma ! She used the craft as a simple backpack with coloured card-stock but I decided to let the kids be free to create and design their own backpacks. You could get wild with stickers and glitter as well but we stayed simple.   Boston Children’s Museum and  BostonMoms.com  Announce Results of Survey on How Kids are Playing in 2024 Boston Children’s Museum in partnership with  BostonMoms.com   recently surveyed parents about how their children are playing and their perceptions about the role of play in their children’s development. Results of the survey, conducted between March and July 2024, show that Massachusetts families highly value play and see it as essential for their children’s health. 89% of those completing the survey said play was essential to their child’s healthy development, and 88 % said it was essential to their child’s learning. Parents also said their children have ample time to play, with only 12% indicating their child did not have enough time to play. However, a significant number, 38%, said they do not have enough time to play with their child, and 37% said their child did not have enough opportunities to play with other children.  Results showed child...
