Dad, You’re the Coolest! Easy Handprint Popsicle Father’s Day Craft
Father’s Day is the perfect excuse to slow down, get messy, and create something from the heart. This adorable “Dad, You’re the Coolest!” handprint craft is one of my favourite easy projects because it only requires a few simple supplies and creates a keepsake that dads will treasure for years.
Here are some other very quick and easy Father’s Day crafts to do for the special dad in your life.
The best part? Little hands become part of the design, making it extra special and personal!
Supplies Needed
- White cardstock or blank paper
- Colored construction paper (blue, red, green, or your child’s favorite color)
- Popsicle stick
- Googly eyes
- Blue paint (or any color)
- Glue
- Black marker
How to Make This Cute Father’s Day Craft
Step 1: Create the Popsicle
Cut a rounded popsicle shape from colored construction paper. We used bright blue paper for a fun frozen treat look. Glue the paper onto the center of your white cardstock and attach a popsicle stick underneath.
Step 2: Add a Face
Glue on two googly eyes and use a black marker to draw a happy smile. Suddenly, your popsicle has personality!
Step 3: Paint Little Hands
Pour some paint onto a plate and carefully coat your child’s hand. Press the handprint beside the popsicle so it looks like their little hand is reaching over and holding the frozen treat.
The handprint becomes the star of the project and captures a moment in time that dads will love looking back on.
Step 4: Write a Sweet Message
At the top of the page, write:
“Dad, You’re the Coolest!”
Add your child’s name and the year at the bottom to turn this craft into a keepsake that can be cherished forever.
Why We Love This Craft
This project is:
- Simple enough for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Inexpensive with supplies you probably already have.
- Great for daycare classrooms, preschool groups, or making at home.
- A precious keepsake that captures tiny handprints forever.
A Father’s Day Gift Made With Love
Sometimes the best gifts aren’t the expensive ones. They’re the ones covered in paint, decorated with googly eyes, and made with little hands and big hearts.
Whether you’re crafting with your own children or with a daycare group, this cheerful handprint popsicle card is guaranteed to melt Dad’s heart. After all, nothing says “I love you” quite like a handmade creation and a tiny hand reaching out to say:
“Dad, you’re the coolest!”
